Great Journey West

Step back into history and join Lewis and Clark's expedition to discover the great American west.  This is the quintessential American story of exploration and the Old West.

Join an intrepid group of explorers as they travel through dangerous frontier lands in Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West.  The film follows Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark as they lead the Corps of Discovery on the first overland expedition into the newly expanded territory of the United States.  Their mission – to discover the fabled Northwest Passage, a waterway believed to run between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  It was the dawn of our nation when these two captains led 31 people, including one woman with her infant son, for 900 days and more than 800 miles through 50 Native American territories.

Imagine a time before the American West became known as the frontier, a time when little was known about what lay beyond the furthest travels of American explorers to date, a land filled with unknown tribes, wild beasts and unfathomed beauty.  Some 200 years ago Lewis and Clark set out on their epic journey from the Mississippi River to the Pacific and back, an expedition that would have been considered as daring in their day as the first moon voyage of the 1960s.

Narrated by Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West is a National Geographic film produced by Destination Cinema and sponsored nationally by Eddie Bauer.

Join the famous expedition to explore unknown and hostile lands in Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West, at the Pink Palace in the CTI IMAX® Theater now through November 12, 2010.  Tickets $8.00 adults, $7.25 seniors and $6.25 children (ages 3-12).  Reservations are suggested.  Group rates available.   901.320.6362
