Caroline Mitchell
July 2009
Caroline Mitchell loves history. She’s in the history honors program at Christian Brothers University. That interest has led her to working as the Exhibits Coordinator for the Pink Palace Museum while studying at CBU. That interest has also taken her to Brazil this summer, to study jaguars. Caroline is the only non-science major accepted into the grants program for jaguar conservation research. She’s at Emis National Park in Pantanal, south of the Amazon basin in the world’s largest wetlands. Caroline will be identifying and tracking jaguars in and out of the park.
She likes to learn about lots of different things and says the study of jaguars is something that would never have come up inside her major; like many of the artifacts at the Pink Palace.
