Part Time Teacher/Naturalist

Pay: $11.75 /hour
Hours: Variable - Typically 17 – 35 hours/week to cover 5 day/week operation; heaviest work loads in Spring & Fall; weekend and some evening work may be required. Not to exceed 1040 hours per calendar year.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Presents programs on Natural Science, the Environment and Conservation to public and school audiences of all ages, both on and off site
- Assists in the development and implementation of all phases of Lichterman Nature Center programs, activities and initiatives
- Assists in the care and feeding of live animals and plants
- Assists in customer service, special events, administrative and clerical activities
- Performs any other functions which may be assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a resident of the City of Memphis.
- College degree in science, education or recreation or related field or any combination of experience or training
- Strong content knowledge of Life Science, Environmental Science and/or Native Wildlife with focus on subject areas related to LNC’s exhibits, programs, scope and purpose
- Knowledge of basic computer software
