Ah, But It's Cold Outside
Winter Wear In The 20th Century
It's the time of year for everyone to move their winter clothing from the back of the closet to the front, including the Pink Palace. We've pulled out coats, boots, hats, scarves and more from our winter closet and put it all on display in the Pink Palace Mansion.
Dudley Fulton owned the ice grey Evening Coat by Balenciaga with the ivory jersey Gown by Stavropoulos (c. 1950s). Dudley was a six-foot tall redhead who was a house model for Balenciaga in the early 50s. She is also the talented artist who painted the Cotton Carnival Queen's portrait on exhibit in the Pink Palace.
Whether you're interested in fashion or history, or just need to come in out of the weather, take a warm, dry walk through winter wear from the 20th Century at "Ah, But It's Cold Outside," on display in the Pink Palace Mansion, now through March 31, 2010.
