The Bodine Story

Friends, relatives, well-wishers, book lovers and history buffs gathered at the Pink Palace Museum, Monday, December 14, 2009,  to see the newest project from Dick Bodine, a biography entitled “The Bodine Story: From Chicken Coop to Industry Leader.” 

The book was written by author David Yawn and dedicated to Dick Bodine’s two wives.  Mr. Bodine says it best:

“In loving memory of Virginia (Jinnie) Shannon Bodine, without whom the company and the school would never have happened, and in deep appreciation to Peggy Jemison Bodine without whom this story would not have been told.”

The Bodine Company is an industry leader in emergency and specialty lighting.  It was acquired by Philips Electronics in 2007.  The Bodine School was inspired by the learning needs of Dick and Jinnie’s son.  “The Bodine Story” tells the story of a remarkable man, his family, his work and his generosity.  We are proud to call Dick and Peggy Bodine, friends of the Pink Palace.  “The Bodine Story” is available in the Pink Palace Museum Shop.
