Yellow Fever
Learn what it was like to live through the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1878. Periodically subjected to steamboat accidents, epidemics and even the ravages of war, Memphis was finally devastated by three major outbreaks of yellow fever in the 1870's. Yellow Fever was the most dreaded disease in the Mississippi Valley.
