This summer, buckle up for the journey of your life with Apollo 11: First Steps Edition on the giant screen, Back to The Moon: For Good Planetarium show and a special presentation by Apollo Mission Flight Controller Bill Weppner. Come enjoy all of these and tons of activities at our Apollo 11 Launch Party May 25th from 11am – 3pm at the Pink Palace Museum. Launch party activities and Bill Weppner presentation free with general admission, CTI Theater or AutoZone Dome Planetarium tickets.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing and 200th Birthday of the City of Memphis

Join the Pink Palace Family of Museums this summer as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the Moon and the 200th Birthday of the City of Memphis.

Memphis Bicentennial Celebrations

When you come back down to earth from all of the Apollo 11 festivities, travel back in time with the Making Memphis bicentennial exhibit and 200th birthday celebrations at the Pink Palace Museum, Lichterman Nature Center and Mallory-Neely Historic Home.

May 18 - 200 has a Lot to Say: Memphis Stories – Pink Palace Museum  11am- 4pm

Celebrate Memphis’ birthday with a day of live storytelling and performances highlighting specific people, events and communities in our city’s history. This family friendly event is free with general museum admission.

May 18 - Bicentennial Birthday Celebration at the Lichterman Nature Center 10am – 2pm

A family fun event featuring hands-on activity stations highlighting specific time periods over the past 200 years at Lichterman, bicentennial exhibit updates, lawn games and light refreshments. There will be great spots to picnic and enjoy a very special day at the Nature Center.

May 19 – Bicentennial History Talk at Mallory-Neely House 4pm; open house 5-6pm

May 21 -  Bicentennial History Hikes at the Lichterman Nature Center

Tuesdays at 2pm beginning May 21. No fee. Meet at Guest Services Desk in Visitor Center.
